Good news for people who have been victims of insurance scams involving jet skis whether it been damage or accident claims. This news comes form Phuket the popular tourist destination and haven for people to enjoy the ocean and other water related activities. Unfortunately there are people who will try to take advantage of this, that is the way of things and its a lot more common than most people would like to admit two. Hiring out a Jet ski can be great fun and if done in a safe environment and proper training and good equipment it can be a highlight I know I’ve done it its great.

There can be a downside with unscrupulous operators trying to scam unsuspecting tourists for damage that was already evident amongst other things to do with unregulated insurance cost in the case of accidents and uninsured skis. Well according to sources that has been changed and legalisation has been passed by the Islands Counsel that all machines on Phuket are insured properly. Of course jet ski use on the island can still be problematic as there are areas on the island where jet ski use is prohibited, but that does not stop people flaunting the law.

Looks like the new year is off to a good start with the news that permission maybe granted for Jet Ski racing in Northern Jersey specifically the Greenwood lake in Orange County. The GLPBA nice acronym for International Jet Sports Boating Association easy to remember, that has made representations to another three letter association tagged onto the end of West Milford EDC. The guy responsible for this is John Ringer with a C who is the VP of the local powerboat association and he wants to introduce Jet Ski racing to the “Browns Point” area of Greenwood lake. He says that thing are at a very early stage and nothing has been decided or discussed yet but there is an indication that the local chamber of commerce are interested. The actual Jet ski competition if decided on will be part of a bigger powerboat competition with different class of machine that being speed power and weight and so on. The only down size to this is the usual bureaucracy that come with hosting an event, its always a drag but it needs to be done permits need to be issued health and safety insurance and the whole nine yards can always be expected but who knows it might happen. No clear decision is expected is yet with early date predictions for Jet Ski competition to start June 9 and June 10 fingers crossed. One last thing that might be of interest for safety conscience Jet Skiers that up until last year no powerboat racing was held in Greenwood due to weed growth in the lake but according to sources that issue has been cleared up and powerboat racing has re commenced as of last year after a long hiatus.
